Old Navy $1.00 Flip Flop Sale!

If you are a Old Navy shopper i'm sure most of you already know today was the one day out of the year that Old Navy did the $1.00 flip flops. The sale to me is a really good deal being that they are normally 2 for $5.00. So you get 5 pair for $5.00 and some change. This year is the first year that I've REALLY shopped the sale. I did it once or twice before picking up 5 or 10 pair here and there. However this year I went to shop, and boy did I shop!

I received a e-mail a couple of days ago about it, which is what tipped me off to the sale. I ended up talking some family members into going with me for the sale. Our mall does not open until 10:00a.m. so I got there 15 minutes until 10. When the doors opened there was people already in line buying, which I thought was odd. Well come to find out after I got in the store there was a sign saying it opened at 7:00a.m. (wish the e-mail would have said that!)

Any way on with my story so I practically ran to the flip flop isle because I was ready to shop, I was super excited and I just started grabbing all the bright colors in my size I could find. One of the people with me got me a bag to put mine in so I wouldn't have to hold them. Ya'll know how big those shopping bags are right? Well I ended up stuffing one completely full so full that nothing else could go in it.

The place was like a mad house. The line when I was finally ready to start the check out process (and it is a process, let me tell ya!) was backed all the way around the perimeter of the store and almost out the door. Our Old Navy is huge so that is saying something. Well each customer had tons of flops and there was a limit of 5 per person. So everyone had to pay for five and get back in line multiple times. I was one of those people obviously. I ended up being in the store 3 hours. I had two other people other then myself helping me check out, to make the process go a bit faster.

I had a blast and I ended up with a ton of flip flops (the total will be over one of the photos). I had a great time talking to the people I came with as well as other in line around me. We also had a few laughs, and no one lost a limb in the process but one person who I went with got ran other by a baby stroller. She  ended up with a track mark on the foot and a broken toenail but other then that, it was all good! I did have 5 more pair to buy that I was going to add on to my grand total. however after going though the line 3 times, I ended up getting tired and saying the 5 more pair wasn't worth it. I had 2 brown, 1 black, 1 black and white and a coral that I ended up not buying.

When I got there there was a entire big wall full of them and tons of boxes sitting all over the store with various sizes and colors in each box. When I left the entire wall of flip flops was almost empty and they was carrying out empty boxes and bringing out what they had left in some of the kids sizes. If you want to shop this sale next year, I suggest going as early as possible for the best selection! The brights go fast!

Ready to see the goods!?

This is what 40 pairs of flip flops look like!

Now time to neaten up a bit!

Last but not least it seemed like a fitting charm for my bag! since I adore flip flops, what better charm for me? I had a metal initial picked out with a flip flop attached to it. I picked it up but after seeing five dollars on it didn't want to buy it. I sat it down and then ended up wanting it. when I went back to get it, the very one I wanted was gone(and it was the only one of the 8 or so they had that was gone, go figure!)! However I found this and liked it so I bought it for a new bag charm.

Old Navy Shopping Spree!!

For the last several years I haven't been able to find much in Old Navy that I cared for. The style in my opinion was awful huge chevron prints, ugly colors and sequins among other no nos. Well this spring I fell in love with Old Navy again and I went CRAZY in there ended up spending $420.00. I got one of those bags to put stuff in while I shopped and I stuffed one completely full to overflowing and went carrying a arm load of clothes and items as well. I'd say I was in Old Navy probably a good 4-5 hours shopping and trying on clothes. I've lost a lost of weight over the winter and I'm proud to say that now depending on the fit I can wear a size 12 pants / shorts and still a large in tops. Some items I had to get a 14 or a XL in because they ran smaller like Chinos and Polo shirts. Where I lost all of the weight I've needed some new better fitting clothes for awhile now, so I treated myself to huge shopping spree!

The first items i'm going to show you all are 6 pair of flip flops. Now I probably didn't NEED these but I loved the colors and i'm crazy for flip flops so I bought these and got repeats of two of the colors in case they get dirty I will have a second pair, plus the two colors match several items I bought. The yellow is more of a neon highlighter yellow, the camera washed the colors out. The hot pink is a true hot pink, it's neon and the navy has neon orange straps and the purple has jelly neon purple, orange and pink straps. I had to size up from my normal size because the ran a little small and I have a wide foot so my foot hung over the 9s on the sides so I went with a 10 this year. I generally have to size up or down with the flip flops in old navy, the sizing is screwed up a lot and every year my size changes. Last year I believe I had to buy a size 11 to fit my normal size 8 1/2-9 foot. None of these colors are available online YET so you will have to go in the store to get you a pair in these colors. If you are a frequent shopper at Old Navy you know they are 2 pair for $5.00 and you just can't beat that price. There are lots of pretty colors this year they also have a coral which I picked up and accidently picked up the wrong size and put it down and forgot to go get my correct size in the color until I got out of the store.

The next items I bought was these Boyfriend Skinny Khakis in Finding Neon and black. I adore these, and as soon as I saw them they went in my bag to try on. I ended up purchasing a size 14 in these a 12 worked but was a bit too snug for my liking, esp since I plan to wear these to work so I went up a size for a nicer fit.I liked them so well I ended up buying two pair of them.

I also bought several button down dress shirts for work in several different colors. I bought a darker bright pink (in the pink) which is one of the classic shirts. I wanted neon pink which they had just not in my size, so I ended up going with a darker bright pink. I also bought a Buttoned Tab-Sleeve Linen-Blend Tunic in neon yellowish green (Persian Melon) that is slightly different it has sleeves that roll up and button and the pink one does not. The color didn't show up as well on camera and some of the photos of them are better than others. I tried to take the best photos I could given my lack of space and time at the moment. I also bought a Plaid-Print Madras Shirt in Pink Madras and I bought a linen peach button down as well. All of these will mostly be for work but also for casual well as well.

I bought four of the perfect crew tees to go under the shirts. I bought pink, purple, grey, and black. Seeing as how I bought two or more they were only $6.00 each so that was a pretty good deal in my opinion. I kind of wished i'd have picked up a green as well but oh well, maybe some other time.

Also I'm seeing three small empty boxes above this photo when I preview the post. I have no idea why they are there and no matter what I seem to do they won't go away so just ignore them. I'm also not sure why the spacing is screwed up closer to the bottom of the post so ignore that as well.
I bought myself a bathing suit but it won't be my "main" bathing suit. This is just going to be my bathing suit to sit in the ocean with and i'll have a coverup over it. It will just be something I can wear to chill out and sit in the beach chair and put my feet in the ocean. This was kind of a impulse buy and I will admit I bought it mainly over the color.

I bought a couple of polo shirts as well they had four colors to select from and I bought two of the four. I bought black (pictured) and navy (not pictured because I wore it yesterday). I love polos and couldn't resist buying a few of them.

When I saw the color of these I couldn't resist having a pair. I have a thing for neons at the moment and I can't seem to get enough of them. I bought a pair of the cuffed twill bermudas in Persian Melon. I can't seem to get neon colors to pick up very well on my camera so the color is a bit brighter then what my photos show.

Next I bought the rockstar denim bermudas, which I love. I generally don't buy that long of a short but when I tried these on I loved them and th fit so I bought me a pair of them.

The second I saw these womens everyday khaki shorts I fell in love and knew they would me mine. The color is what hooked me they are a true neon pink and I LOVE them!

Next I bought the sweetheart denim shorts and I LOVE these as well. These fit me perfectly and that's a rare thing for me to find. In fact I think these are the only shorts I've ever tried on that fit me perfectly. I bought these in a size 12 and I am so happy I picked up this pair of shorts to try on.

The last two items I bought were shoes. I bought a pair of actual shoes and a pair of sandals. The cross-strap sandals I had looked at online and they peaked my interest when I saw them. After I got in the store and tried them on I loved them and the color sealed the deal so they went in my bag. The shoes I needed because a lot of things I want to do this summer require actual shoes and not flip flops and since I don't buy actual shoes I needed a pair. When I saw the color and after I tried them on they went in my bag to buy. I love me some neons!

Old Navy Haul

I've been meaning to do a Old Navy haul for about a month now. I bought these things roughly a month ago and just have not got around to take photos and posting the haul. With the holidays and things, there just hasn't been enough time to get everything posted that I've wanted to post when I've wanted to post it.

I've had to replace my winter clothes this year, I've lost a ton of weight and everything was huge on me so out with the old and in with the new! I decided to spread tissue paper out on our table when taking these photos, to prevent scratches from zippers, etc. so just ignore the awful green color. So let's just get right to the haul today shall we...

First up I bought two pair of jeans (only one pictured, because I started wearing the other pair.) I bought two pair of The Sweetheart in Skinny. Paid $29.50 each

I also bought a new jacket. It's wind proof and waterproof (wish it had a hood!) however I do love it especially the color, it's super soft and I know it's going to be good and warm. This was the most expensive item I bought at $44.00

I also bought a performance fleece mock zip, and I just adore this color. The day I bought this I paid $10.00 for it. I ended up picking up the wrong size accidentally and took it back the very next day...only paid $8.50 for it!

Decided to buy these pants to wear around the house.

I also bought 2 pairs of gloves and a new scarf, don't you just love that bright melon color? I know I do I love brights, especially for winter! Didn't really need these but couldn't resist, bought the scarf because of the color and the gloves because of the colors and the great deal I got. I bought both pairs of gloves for only $5.00! Sorry the pink gloves got washed out a bit from the flash.

Next I bought two perfect long sleeve tees. I bought to because you got a good deal if you bought more then one. I only have one pictured because I started wearing the other. The other one I bought is a bright light blue.

The last item I bought was a sweater, and admittedly I bought this one mostly because of the color. It appears to be almost a Tiffany Blue, in real life it looks closer to the color. I believe Old Navy calls the color Airwalker.

Old Navy Haul

I ended up having to go exchange some of the clothes that i bought the last time at Old Navy, I had to go size down on a few things. I got lucky and 3 out of 4 of the things i had to exchange...well really I got lucky with all of it. 3 of the four things I found in the size I needed and the khaki shorts I couldn't find in the size, and would have had to have them shipped in from some where else so I ended up just letting go of the khaki shorts. I hate they didn't have them, I really liked those, but oh well. The things I exchanged that I was able to buy back I actually got cheaper than the first time I bought them. Not only that but Old Navy was having a really good sale so I ended up buying several extra items for nearly nothing. I also found a larger selection of clothes, and colors than what is made available online. It's been awhile since I actually shopped at Old Navy before these last few weeks, so I actually forgot about a lot. I would actually recommend shopping in store or at a outlet as opposed to online. With online prices seem to be higher than in store and selection isn't as good. This sale that they are having now (well was having yesterday at least, probably still are) wasn't available online, it's actually a pretty good sale. They are having buy one get one free on tees and tanks(select ones obviously), a lot of other items is marked down like shorts, and some tanks are only $3.50, I  also saw sweaters for nearly nothing, really good sale. The active shorts I had to take back and exchanged for smaller sizes I originally paid $15.00 each for them but they was marked down to $12.50. I also saw some cute lounge shorts for only $7.50 and originally they as $15.00(they are featured in this haul). With everything I bought I ended up saving $49.00 dollars..so I was a happy person. Strongly suggest if you was spring/summer clothes...go check out the sale and take advantage!

the first thing I picked up was these active shorts, which was in the last haul, I ended up getting a size down.. Originally $15 - paid $12.50

I also ended up picking up another pair of these, I didn't exchange sizes or anything just bought a second pair since I love the color. Originally $15 - paid $12.50

I ended up buying these henley tees, the orange I had to size down in and seeing as how they was buy one get one fee I ended up buying two. Paid only $8.50 and got both!

I also bought these tanks, these was buy one get one free as well. Seeing as how I have to layer most of my clothes from Old Navy I figured these would come in handy. However I will say these are stretch material so you might was to get a size larger than normal if you purchase these. Paid only $8.50 and got both.

These was in the last haul as well, ended up having to go a size down in these too. Originally $15 - paid $12.50

This tank was only $3.50, and at my store they had melon but had sold out in my size, they had this blue, and black all for only $3.50 so I ended up buying the blue just because it was a good deal and i can always use tanks.

Loved these colors and given that they was buy one get one free I bought both they are the perfect fit tees. Paid $8.50 and got both.

I also ended up buying more henley tees because of the buy one get one, loved the bright colors! Paid $8.50 and got both.

Last buy not least are these lounge shorts I was talking about. Originally $15 - paid only $7.50. They also had other colors if pink isn't your thing. I think they had gray and maybe black if i remember right.
